Sylvester Stallone

“Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up.” – Rocky Balboa said in Rocky. Hollywood’s megastar Sylvester Stallone was once such a contender who fought many hardships in real life before he was applauded for being Rocky Balboa and Rambo. Before a boxing match inspired him to write the script for the first Rocky movie, Stallone was drowning in poverty. He stole and sold his wife’s jewelry and his beloved dog, and yet he was rendered homeless.

After investing 20 straight hours in the script of Rocky, Stallone tried selling it with one request that he wanted to play the protagonist. Many producers denied his request because they thought he “looked funny and talked funny.” However, one of the producers accepted his request and as they say, the rest is history.
