Young Chaplin lived on streets, almost starving, but finally managed to find refuge in acting and comedy. His work was commended by many theatre and film companies who offered him contracts. He started making silent comic films, and making the world laugh

By the end of his life, Charlie Chaplin had worked in 82 notable films, of which a few were written and directed by him. Chaplin once said that he had many problems in life but his lips never knew that. All he ever wanted was a better world, through his silent films. His performances are legendary not just because of the getup, but because of the story behind them.
